WARSAW, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Poland's women's volleyball team extended their winning streak to three games after beating Colombia in straight sets 25-21, 25-21, 25-13 in an Olympic qualifier at the Atlas Arena in Lodz on Tuesday evening.
Stefano Lavarini's team stayed on the right course after having previously beaten Slovenia and South Korea. Magdalena Stysiak showed her quality to deliver 19 points for the winners. Dayana Segovia was Colombia's top scorer with 12 points.
Seen as strong favorites, Poland made a perfect start with five points scored in a row. The visitors found their feet to reduce the gap to 14-13. However, the hosts then turned the pace again. Olivia Rozanski's attack closed the first set 25-21 in Poland's favor.
Antonio Rizola's players improved their level significantly at the start of the second phase as they took an 8-3 lead. Maryna Lukasik's ace allowed Poland to reduce the deficit, while Joanna Wolosz made it 11-11 after turning an unforced Colombia mistake into a score. It turned out to be the crucial moment of the set as then Poland seized the initiative. Monika Galkowska's killing attack led the hosts to another 25-21 scoreline.
Lavarini's players then had full control as Colombia couldn't find a way to stop Stysiak and her teammates. With the favorites leading 15-5, it was clear that it was only a matter of time before they secured their third consecutive victory in the qualifying tournament.
Earlier in the day, Germany beat South Korea in a five-set thriller 3-2 (25-13, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 15-7). Lena Stigrot scored 20 points for the winners, while Kang So-hwi contributed 18 points for South Korea.

Davide Mazzanti's team have won three games from three, the same as Poland, with both teams on nine points so far. Germany are third in Pool C, one point adrift.
China lead Pool A with a perfect record of three victories. So far, Cai Bin's players have not lose a single set in the Olympic qualifying tournament, just like Serbia. On Tuesday, they beat the Czech Republic 25-12, 25-16, 25-23.
