NEW YORK CITY, New York: SpaceX is preparing to go public as early as June 12 on the Nasdaq, according to people familiar with the matter, in what could become the largest initial public offering in history.
The rocket and satellite company founded by Elon Musk is expected to trade under the ticker symbol SPCX.
Sources told Reuters that SpaceX plans to publish its prospectus as early as next May 20, begin its investor roadshow on June 4, and price the offering around June 11, with trading starting the following day.
The accelerated timetable is earlier than a previously expected late-June listing and was helped by a faster-than-anticipated review of the company's filing by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
SpaceX is expected to raise about US$75 billion at a valuation of roughly $1.75 trillion, according to previous Reuters reporting. That would make it the biggest stock market debut ever.
The targeted valuation is substantially higher than the $1.25 trillion combined valuation assigned when SpaceX merged with Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI in February.
The offering is expected to be one of the most significant listings in years and could spark a wave of major technology IPOs, including Anthropic and OpenAI.
The listing would be a major win for Nasdaq over its rival, the New York Stock Exchange.
It was reported in March that SpaceX was leaning toward a Nasdaq listing to position itself for early inclusion in the Nasdaq-100 index.
Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan, and Goldman Sachs are serving as lead bookrunners for the offering, with 16 additional banks participating.
